Rams Upset Chargers at Home
by James T. Ingram for OhhMyOnline.net

The question, this week, was whether the Rams could rebound after an embarrassing showing against the Detroit Lions in week 5. The answer was a resounding yes as they pulled off a 20-17 upset of the the NFL’s most potent offense, in the San Diego Chargers, at the Edward Jones Dome.

QB Sam Bradford was busy, completing 18 of 31 passes for 198 yards, one being a 38 yard TD bomb to newly acquired rookie WR Denario Alexander, the former Mizzou star, who made a spectacular diving end zone reception.

Steven Jackson pounded his way into the end zone for the Rams second touchdown of the day, coming within 29 yards of Eric Dickerson’s all-time rushing record.

The Rams defensive was equally as impressive with Safety Oshiomogho Atogwe intercepting Chargers QB Phil Rivers in the end zone and the Rams defensive unit limiting the Chargers to only 287 yards of total offense.

The Chargers didn’t roll over, battling back to make it a 3 point game.

But in the closing seconds, the Rams were masterful in their time management, with Steven Jackson driving for 2 first downs, eating up the clock and allowing Bradford simply run off the remaining seconds of the game for the Rams third victory of the season, bringing them to a record of 3-3.

Next week the Rams are on the road against a good Tampa Bay Buccaneer team
